Shingo Aruga + Vivienne Sato + Chiho Hayashi “Orgasmic Reproduction— Unfortunate Birth, Happy Death”

Koganei Art Spot Chateau 2F
Finished

Artists

Shingo Aruga, Vivienne Sato, Chiho Hayashi
The ‘Orgasmic’ in the exhibition’s title combines the words organic and orgasm. ‘Orgasmic reproduction’ therefore refers to the climax that occurs in organic reproduction, a process that encompasses us all. This organic reproduction can be seen as both sad and joyful, as we live in single moments of an ongoing process of reproduction that includes both pain and pleasure.

The works on display represent the perspectives of various artists on the climaxes in organic reproduction that affect us all. With birth and death as sources of inspiration, can we as organic bodies reach a summit through art? These works are meant to raise questions about the relationship between humans and art by focusing on birth and death in this great system of organic reproduction.
