Boris Sirka
Boris Sirka (b. 1981), a Slovakian visual artist mostly known as a painter, will present new work created during a three-month residency at Youkobo Art Space. Invited to Youkobo as a participant in an artist exchange program organized between Youkobo and K.A.I.R. (Košice Artist in Residence/Slovakia), for the past two months Sirka has focused his activities on the creation of an audiovisual diary containing paintings and drawings, but also short videos and records from numerous places he has visited. The archive of memories and images will represent a special environment communicating with the spectator, not only as a passive display but as an active puzzle that will build an image in the viewer’s mind.
