Centered around New York in the late 70s and 80s the “No Wave” movement encompassed punk rock, experimental film and music, performance art and other varieties of contemporary art. Amongst this whirl wind of diverse expression emerged the saxophonist James Chance and his lover, “Mad Club” hostess, and photographer of underground culture, Anya Phillips. Here visitors can catch a glimpse of an alternative New York through 30 selected photographs.
