“Gengetsu” is a series of portrait works featuring anonymous models by Takemi Yabuki (b.1982), a commercial photographer. Yabuki throws a question on “Visibility and Invisibility”, “hidden things” and “things that are ignored” through photography. Yabuki randomly approaches strangers on the street, asking them to become his subjects, posing for portrait photographs while covering parts of their face or body, in a method which Yabuki utilizes to explore how much we choose to reveal in an image.
