Chiaki Maki
Nearly 30 years have passed since Chiaki Maki took up work in India. In recent years she has taken Ganga Studio, in the north of India, as her base for fabric dying and sewing, while cultivating the surrounding land to grow plants and vegetables for dyeing as well as producing silk with a small silk worm farm. Drawing on the wisdom and skill of those who still understand the blessings of nature she continues to make clothes and fabric as part of daily life and here showcases the fruits of this endeavor, each
filled with the air of their origins.
