Costume National presents the work of Hiroshi Sugimoto, internationally acclaimed for his masterpieces achieved through photographic techniques on themes of time, light, and modernism. “In Praise of Shadows,” a series depicting the lifespan of a candle, is on display. Each candle burns differently, and these photographs seem to assume the identity of their subject, matching its rhythm and blurring the lines of reality in the dimness. The beauty of shadows evoked by the candle’s flickering and fading combines with the minimalism of the gallery, turning the entire space into a work of art.
