When in 1986 Michiko Kobayashi contributed illustrations to the publication “The Strangeness of Mushrooms” she became enchanted with these living forms and has since spent the last 30 years depicting their unique shapes and colors, becoming a leading illustrator in this field, with leading institutions such as the UK’s Kew Gardens, also holding her work in their collections.
