The genre of Shunga came to the fore between to the Momoyama and Edo period, being depicted by some of the best of the painters of that time. In 2014 a major review of these works was held at the British Museum, followed by the acclaimed show of the Eiseibunko collection in 2015. Art Lab Tokyo follows in these footsteps with an exhibition of contemporary Shunga.
