Artists

Rosanjin Kitaoji
Rosanjin Kitaoji(1883-1959) was active both as a calligrapher and stamp engraver, but is most widely recognized for his work in ceramics. With a passion for ancient pottery and with a penchant for gourmet food, Rosanjin came to create a body of work centering upon Japanese tableware. Through an exhibition of work at the Seikohyo kiln in Kitakamakura, where Rosanjin honed his skill for 30 years, his work was introduced to the world, and on this occasion the porcelain of this master is featured alongside his calligraphy, painting and lacquerwork.
