The dancer, choreographer, and video artist Miwa Okuno presents the dance installation B/O/N/E at the gallery Temporary Contemporary in Tsukishima, Tokyo. Okuno received two awards at the 2013 Yokohama Dance Collection EX and has presented works in Europe, Asia, and South America, as well as in Japan. She is currently enrolled in the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School’s Intermedia Art Department, working on “creating artistic space through video and physical expression.”

This work exploring “the relationship between bone and flesh” through movement is offers a way of seeing “the essence of things through the dissection of their elements.” Okuno has tailored the performance specifically for Temporary Contemporary since first unveiling it at the Korean international dance festival SIDance. Going beyond the framework of dance, this performance brings together physical expression, video, sound, and fashion in a work of “dance art.”
