The exhibition Unik – Origin of Scandinavian Design at the Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo presents the work of 28 Scandinavian designers, who each contributed one pattern inspired by their places of birth or childhood. The patterns are made in sashiko embroidery, a traditional Japanese handicraft. The Swedish word “unik” expresses respect for individuality and uniqueness.
