Shonah Trescott
At her first exhibition in four years, the Australian artist Shonah Trescott (b. 1982) presents 40 new paintings demonstrating her unchanging fascination with the relationship between people and the environment. These works turn an eye on our “anthropocene” geological age, one of unprecedented discord between nature and people in which humans are having a major impact on the earth’s ecosystems and climate. While referencing great painters such as Turner, Constable, and Monet, these works also attempt to portray “something completely new.”
