This exhibition - entitled “Somewhere” – presents six new ambitious works created by using lenticular lens sheets, a technique Rafaël Rozendaal has been working with in recent years. This will also be the first time Rozendaal’s lenticular series will be showcased in Asia as a solo exhibition. The lenticulars are a leap forward from the artist’s web-based works. The patterns of light and color are used this time to develop stand-alone expressions with compositions that can only be rendered through the special features of a lenticular sheet. The resulting vistas of vivid, flowing colors transform and diversify as the beholder’s perspective changes. Here visitors may experience the ever-changing state created by Rozendaal’s works, which transgress the borders of painting.
