This current exhibition will feature approximately 50 works done in acrylic paint, produced with a combination of airbrush and the paintbrush. The works have a photographic realism, yet possess the physicality and spatiality of the painting. The works can be summarily divided into portraits, night scenes, and flowers. While the works cover a number of motifs, they all return to a single “lust for life” theme. I repeatedly attempt to cut out those moments of daily life that are incongruously beautiful and dreamlike, mixing elements of reality with fantasy. Each one of the works is the embodiment of what it means to “be alive”, blurred and hidden within our daily routines.
