Toshihiko Isao has painted oil landscapes of the nature in the Tokyo area of Musashino throughout his career. In addition to his work as an artist, he is also an early collector and researcher of late-Edo and Meiji period Ukiyo-e artists such as Kuniyoshi Utagawa and Yoshitoshi Tsukioka. Featuring several pieces on public display for the first time, this exhibition introduces this internationally acclaimed collection with works by Ukiyo-e luminaries including Kyosai Kawanabe and Eitaku Kobayashi, as well as Isao’s oil paintings.
