Daisuke Watanabe “Toilet Paper”

Studio 35 Minutes
Finished

Artists

Daisuke Watanabe
Toilet paper is an item we all touch at least once a day. Photographer Daisuke Watanabe views toilet paper as the “baton” uniting each person in “relays” of bathroom use. These pictures of T.P. don’t just convey information about the spaces it was used in, but also the times spent there and the types of people availing themselves of it. Around 1,000 photographs taken from 2002 to 2004 and from 2012 to the present are on display.
