In the 7th of a series of lectures concerning the importance of museum collections this event examine the history of the National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo which was established upon the Matsukata collection. Museum curator Shinsuke Watanabe will navigate the audience around such greats as Raphael, Rubens and Van Gogh whilst demonstrating the innovative ways that the museum curates its collection through its spaces.
