Established in 2002, Echo Park Film Center (EPFC) is a non-profit media arts organization committed to providing equal and affordable community access to film/video resources. EPFC and BLUM & POE are pleased to announce to have a screening event and workshop in Tokyo. Please come join visiting filmmakers Lisa Marr and Paolo Davanzo from EPFC as they screen a series of short artist created experimental films that celebrate place, cities and makers. The first evening will highlight three short films including A Portrait of Henry Taylor by August Blum in addition to two City Symphony films - The Sound We See: Los Angeles and The Sound We See: Hanoi. In addition, EPFC invites audience members to make their very own City Symphony film shooting Super 8 color film and running around the streets, alleyways and backroads of Tokyo for 24-hours. One minute of film will be shot at each hour of the day at a different location in Tokyo for a 24-minute film to premiere June 5 here again at Blum & Poe Tokyo. The film will be shot on the beautiful Kodak Ektachrome film stock and edited in-camera. You are cordially invited to attend the premiere of this “Cinematic Scavanger Hunt” shot over a 24-hour period in Tokyo. Please join us from 3 - 6PM for a hands-on Super 8 processing workshop to make titles for our film using Eco-Friendly processing techniques as well.
