Artists

Kazuyuki Suto
Kazuyuki Suto produces Japanese-style paintings that take the seasons and wind as their theme and focus in on the small creatures that live in close proximity to humans. His works are richly colored with rock pigments and depict a wind that blows through the scenery and breath of the tiny animals feaured. They remind viewers of an almost forgotten childhood and impress audiences with a world of tenderness and love that is filled with kindness. He has recently broadened the scope of his activities and produced a painting for the cover of the new publication “Sowing the Seeds of Buddhism,” written by Tai-in Murakami in commemoration of his appointment as new Chief of Yakushiji Temple, a Buddhist temple with 1300 years of history. This exhibition will present the original painting commissioned for the cover of the book to the public for the first time.
