This session is an opportunity for people of the next generation, who will go on to be future leaders, to widely debate Asian culture and social innovations. Discussions will focus on happiness in Asia in the future (next generation), while also sharing the practice of innovations in Southeast Asia and Japan around three themes: “Time,” “Place,” and “Community.”

Talk Session: Three Dialogues Revolving Around Asia

Theme 1: Time
A dialogue on initiatives to revitalize culture rooted in the local community that has been protected and nurtured, such as arts & crafts, entertainment, and customs by re-interpreting them in the context of the present day and in line with today’s needs, as well as through new presentations and marketing.

Theme 2: Place
A dialogue for finding how to create a mechanism for concluding a win-win relationship between cities and rural/local communities, the way that public space and historical areas ought to be, new sense of values, and creative relationships amid a global trend of excessive concentration in cities.

Discussions on initiatives to enhance such values as mutual understanding, symbiosis, and sustainability by encouraging people to change their recognition of the environment and communities by having art and creativity intervene in society and shake up people’s “everyday” senses; a dialogue for pursuing the power and roles of art through which people find the joy of life.
