Aki Miyajima + Tomokaz Kano “Ma ni ya ra, ma ni ya ra”

Paku Paku An
Finished

Artists

Aki Miyajima, Tomokaz Kano
Aki Miyajima held her first ever solo exhibition not long after neutron, Paku Paku An’s predecessor, was established in Kyoto. Following this, she relocated to Tokyo and developed her career as an illustrator. In April of this year, Miyajima exhibited for the first time in fifteen years as part of “Portraits of Japan,” an event organized under the direction of Paku Paku An’s Keigo Ishibashi.
It was by the request of Miyajima that Tomokaz Kano was selected as the other artist for this two-person show. While Miyajima and Kano work in very different styles, their brilliant interactions highlight their individual artworks respectively, also manifesting in pieces they have produced collaboratively.
