This year Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA), a qualifying film festival for the annual Academy Awards® and one of Asia’s largest international short film festivals, will screen some 250 titles, selected from nearly 9,000 films submitted from over 140 countries and regions around the world. The festival is structured around screenings of films competing in the eight competitions, as well as programs that are out of competition. Last year’s Grand Prix winner “Sing,” which went on to receive an Academy Award, will be screened at the festival once again as part of the “Academy Program.” Admission to screenings is free, so why not check out the array of films, many of which are screening in Japan for the first time.
