Yutaka Okada “Out of Noise – Owls of the Spiritual World”

Owls have been a symbol of wisdom and mystery since ancient times. In ancient Greece, they were seen as intermediaries between people and spirits in animistic society. The Ainu revere them as holy village gods. Still other cultures and eras have regarded owls as unlucky birds and as pests. Yutaka Okada paints owls in white gold in the hopes that they will be remembered as messengers of the natural world in this age in which our ties to nature are being forgotten.
