Ayato Fujiwara
An exhibition of gesture-themed ceramic sculptures by Ayato Fujiwara expressing the duality of the internal and external in human and organic forms. Fujiwara uses ceramics as a medium for reflecting dual elements of the inside and outside, existence and emptiness, and light and shadow.
The artist explains, “Words are not the only way we communicate. Hand and body movements also convey meaning and are performed even when there is no one to listen to us. When I create a sculpture, I also make my own gestures, and these works express them as a philosophical world of mass and form in an unconscious space.”
