Ogai Mori
Aware of his illness but refusing treatment so that he could continue to work, Ogai Mori wrote and researched right up until the moment of his death at 7 a.m. on July 9th, 1922. What was in this writer’s heart and mind as he faced death head on? How did he express these thoughts in words? Mori Ogai Memorial Museum presents writings and other archival materials that shed light on the author’s final days, with special attention paid to “The Complete Works of Ogai,” a collection of Mori’s writings compiled by poet Tekkan Yoshino.
