Artists

Diego
DIEGO is a Tokyo-based street artist, often described as “the most peculiar artist in Japan’s street art scene”. The artist has never trained formally but has also kept a distance from Tokyo’s wild street culture. With the immense knowledge, curiosity, and dynamism that comes with being an enthusiastic graffiti-otaku, along with a unique artistic viewpoint akin to that of The Street Observation Society of the 80’s, Diego has created a unique style that combines an obsessive love for nostalgic characters with the toy graffiti aesthetic. Having connections with artists around the world, Diego has actively been organizing exhibitions, as well as directing mural projects. The artist’s first ever solo exhibition Important Garbage is comprised of unique, unmissable artwork that embodies the essence of street culture as Diego sees it.
