Kana Ishikawa
A showcase exhibition for Kana Ishikawa, Grand Prix winner of the Spiral Independent Creators Festival last May. Ishikawa’s multimedia practice encompassing paintings, films, and installations confront and question societal developments by highlighting the unique thoughts and unconscious behaviors of people in this age of information technology. At SICF19, she presented a video of interviews at Yamanote Line stations asking people how they thought one should live; another video showed people playing Twister on a mat using the four colors of the Google logo as dots while moving according to search responses to the question “How should one live?” See the first solo exhibition for this impressive young artist who in addition to winning the SICF19 Grand Prix was selected as a Wonder Seeds 2018 artist.
