“Spiritual Legacy” features the work of second-generation Japanese-American Mike Saijo. The exhibition is based on photographs of the Japanese-American community taken from the 1910s through the 1920s by Chikashi Tanaka. Saijo has combined digital reprints of the original photos with his mother’s handwritten Japanese and Engish to create an artistic record of the Japanese-American experience prior to internment during the Second World War.
