Makoto Sugawara
Makoto Sugawara is a computer graphics director and artist who works with paper to create mobiles, installations, and other works. In Kamiori (Paper Folding), he takes a different approach to the art form in paper sculptures expressing the complexity and playfulness in the supposedly simple act of folding paper. Sugawara says “more than trying to realize a specific shape, I’m experimenting with techniques,” yet experimentation alone could note produce such creative and endearing works.
