The Grid Human series drawn as a contemporary Okubi-e (Ukiyo-e close up portraits) expresses the “reality of existence,” a presence with a feeling of tension like an encounter of the unknown. This contemporary Okubi-e series is done in a handwritten style drawn with polarities between grids and free lines.
