Yuka Tada spent 14 years from age 22 with a chronic intestinal disease, bleeding daily and unable to eat or sleep properly because of pain. She had given up on living, but then decided she would “live doing only what I want” without concern for the opinions of others. It was then that her illness unbelievably vanished. She recounted her experiences on her blog, in poems, and in popular talks. She also took up art, which she had enjoyed in childhood but lacked the confidence to continue. The joy and hopefulness in her artwork embraces living with fun and freedom in the moment and making dreams come true.
