Takafumi Saito
Takafumi Saito considers this exhibition as an “apparatus for confirming where he stands”. Using history as spoken word, he takes a close look at the words and the physical embodiment that lies within families and communities. Restructuring the content of his 2015 exhibition “A Faintly Triumphant Return”, Saito has pursued a method for transmitting memory through physicality and the telling of history. The exhibition consists of objects created from the layering of his own memories and those of his grandparents.
