Momoka Aiso’s works have been featured at shows including Little Akihabara Market (2014) at Roppongi Hills A/D Gallery and Boys Love (2016) at Shinjuku Garou. Her moe-style anime characters are not just cute, high-quality drawings, they combine a self-awareness and wildness in their cool gazes with a vague feeling of uncertainty. For her eighth solo exhibition, Aiso reverses her previous approach of creating characters from internal facets of her self, this time portrayin pre-existing qualities evoked by her characters. Never-before-exhibited works take the stage at Rusu, a traditional Japanese house converted into a gallery. Aiso will also welcome special guests and present collaborative works.
