Apichatpong Weerasethakul
The Thai director and artist Apichatpong Weerasethakul creates works with themes of superstitions, dreams, the unconscious, and memories within forests. This special showing presents three of his films: Syndromes and a Century (a love story set in a hospital), Cemetery of Splendour depicting overlapping memories of land and love in Thailand’s northeastern Isan region, and the Cannes Palm d’Or-winning Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. The short film “The Anthem” will also be screened before Cemetery of Splendour. Please see the official website for show times.
