Taishi Urakawa + Akira Kamo + Kota Takeuchi “Paintings”

SNOW Contemporary
Finished

Artists

Taishi Urakawa, Akira Kamo, Kota Takeuchi
This exhibition presents three modern artists through the traditional medium of painting. Fukuoka-based Taishi Urakawa uses information and physical sensations to create work that evokes imaginary spaces. Since the 2011 East Japan earthquake, Akira Kamo creates work based on the notions of “painting” and “surviving” that combine the imaginary with reality to depict the polarization between “self” and “society”. Finally, Kota Takeuchi has used video and installation art in addition to painting in pursuit of the meaning of media in modern society.
