The purpose of the Shell Award is to discover up and coming artists with a focus on two-dimensional works. This year a grand prix, 5 panelist awards, 2 special awards for students, and 46 other finalists for a total of 54 works were selected. Works from past award winners and finalists including Junta Egawa, Masashi Kawakami, Colliu, Saki Murakami, and Natsuki Otsuki, who completed a residency in Paris last summer, will be also exhibited.
