Tetsu Ida
Tetsu Ida (b. 1948) is a Tokyo-born photographer who has held many exhibitions and published several books. In 1987 he received the Photographic Society of Japan Newcomer Award and his works belong to the collections of the Tokyo Photographic Museum of Art and the Kawasaki City Museum.

Since the 1970s, Ida’s photography has documented the many facets of cities in images instilled with an off-kilter quality that gives them a unique sense of time and space. Since his 1975 solo show “Shashin Toshi” (Photograph City) at Shinjuku Nikon Salon, he has continued to produce photographs about urban environments and buildings. This exhibition looks at his black and white images from the Shashin Toshi show through his current works, reexamining the development of his style. The two-week exhibition is divided into parts I and II.
