Nanga is a school and style of art that flourished in the late Edo period under the influence of the Ming Dynasty’s Southern School of Chinese Painting. This exhibition traces a wave of early modern through modern Ibaraki-based Nanga that started with Kanto Nanga founder Buncho Tani.
