Artists

Ryoichi Nakamura
This exhibition will showcase over 400 pieces including new works from the “a study of identity” series, and will be Nakamura’s third solo exhibition at the gallery. Depicting Japanese Americans who were sent to internment camps during WW2, this series focuses on the complex theme of the wavering identity between two countries, Japan and the US. Although the people are from over 75 years ago, the events occurring in the US and around the world this year make these portraits exceedingly relevant to today’s society.
