Bunyo Ishikawa
Bunyo Ishikawa, who made a name for himself as a war correspondent during the Vietnam War, spent 11 months from 2018 to 2019 traveling from the north to the south of Japan, reaching his goal destination at the age of 81. On this journey Ishikawa captured the natural landscapes of Hokkaido, the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Tepco Fukushima nuclear disaster, the earthquake-stricken region of Kumamoto, and U.S. military bases in his hometown of Okinawa. A selection of 120 photographs from a collection of nearly 35,000 are on display.
