Rintaro Takahashi
Rintaro Takahashi considers how perception changes through physical movement, creating works while imagining their exhibitions and other surrounding circumstances. He stresses the physicality of musicians and treats their sounds as a form of expression. For his 2019 work “scale here,” he made videos and sound installations of drums being played on the beds of trucks traveling on the expressway, noting how curves and bumps resulted in changes in vibrations and tempos. For “Drone Dome,” he presents new work and the installation “Phantom Container” in which people with quadriplegia use myoelectricity to play musical instruments.
