Geidai Collection Exhibition 2021 II

The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Finished
The core of the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music’s “Geidai Collection” consists of antique art collected as teaching materials and student work that are the result of education.

The Collection Exhibition II features graduation works by students of the Design Department (the predecessor of the current Design and Architecture Department) of the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. Many of the works in this exhibition are being shown for the first time since the opening of the University Art Museum and will focus on the unknown aspects of design works, which have a formative expression different from that of Japanese paintings and oil paintings.

This exhibition introduces the university’s collection from the perspectives of “design” and “design,” focusing on graduation projects from the Department of Design, as well as ancient Japanese design elements such as the important cultural property Korin Ogata’s “Maki-Fu” and designs for Noh costumes, and recent graduation projects.
