Painting, manga, illustration, picture books… Tiger Tateishi (real name Koichi Tateishi / 1941-98) was an artist who was active in a variety of genres. In 2021, the 80th anniversary of his birth, two museums, the Urawa Art Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama, will jointly hold this exhibition to look back on the unique artist Tiger Tateishi on a large scale.

Urawa Art Museum was established in the spring of 2000 in an urban area conveniently located close to Urawa Station. Urawa, which has developed as the capital of Saitama Prefecture, has long nurtured its culture as a city of education. Urawa Art Museum hopes to become a center for cultural creation in Saitama through its community-based collection and active activities. The museum hopes to be a familiar and attractive destination that also beckons to the future.
