This is exhibition is a collaboration between artist Sae Fujita and ceramics label Shokki. While Shokki’s products are one-of-a-kind, made by hand-turning clay, Fujita’s printmaking technique is characterized by its ability to be reproduced. In this collaboration of two seemingly contrasting techniques, the techniques and characteristics of silkscreen have been applied to ceramics, creating a methodical mix of original and reproduction. In this exhibition, there will be products made by silk-screening drawings onto cast porcelain, and objects made by printing images directly onto clay.
