Yosuke Amemiya
Born in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture in 1975, Yosuke Amamiya graduated from Tama Art University in 1999 with a major in oil painting and moved to Europe in 2011. Amemiya works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, projects, video installations, and performance, and in all of his works, he “carefully prepares the appearance of dealing with the most non-poisonous themes, and is always thinking of a mechanism that will allow people to take home a lightweight bomb without being noticed (excerpt from the statement of his solo exhibition at Snow Contemporary in 2018).”
This solo exhibition will present an exhibition space that brings together recent drawings as well as the iconic apple works that Amemiya has been working on since the beginning of his career.
