The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Arts Council Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, and the Pavilion Tokyo 2021 Executive Committee will hold ‘Pavilion Tokyo 2021’ as part of the TokyoTokyo Festival Special 13. Pavilion Tokyo 2021” is a project that aims to share with the world the appeal of Japanese culture that is still unknown to the rest of the world. In recent years, six Japanese architects and two artists who have been active in various parts of the world have been asked to design their own unique pavilions, which will be installed in the area around the New National Stadium to introduce the future of architecture and art. Each of the eight pavilions will be filled with the wishes of the architects and artists for the future of Tokyo, and visitors will be able to explore the pavilions like treasure hunters with a map in hand, or while taking a walk.

Teppei Fujiwara’s pavilion, resembling an alley garden, can be found in front of the Former National Children’s Castle (Kodomo no Shiro). This display organically connects people and plants.

Pavilion Tokyo 2021 venues: In front of Victor Studio, in front of the United Nations University, in front of the former Children’s Castle, near Panorama Square in Yoyogi Park, Kudan House Garden, Hamarikyu Gardens Enryokan site, inside the ticket gates of Takanawa Gateway Station, Shibuya City Office Daini Mitake Branch Government Building, Jingu Gaien Icho Namiki Iriguchi, Empty lot around Watari-um
