Minato City Ukiyo-e Walk

Minato City Local History Museum
Finished
Minato is a city of many faces, including tourist spots that attract many people from Japan and abroad, a business district with many office buildings, and an international town with many embassies, and it continues to develop every day. Since the Edo period (1603-1868), there have been many famous places in the port area. Many of these places were depicted in ukiyo-e prints, which were a popular pastime for the common people, and have continued to be popular as the subject of prints in the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. This exhibition is organized in such a way that visitors can tour the many famous places in the port area while looking at the works depicted. The places depicted can still be visited today, so after enjoying the ukiyoe walking tour in the exhibition room, please visit the actual locations.
