Artists

Eric Carle
Eric Carle, author of the colorful picture book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” loved by children around the world, passed away on May 23, 2021, at the age of 91. Carle, who sympathized with the museum’s mission to recognize picture book illustrations as works of art, donated the first work to the Chihiro Art Museum Collection in 1985. This exhibition displays works by Carle from the museum collection and introduces his collaging techniques and interactions with the museum over the years. See the work of this artist who remained committed to creating art for children.
