Pavilion Tokyo 2021 is a project to express secret attractions of Japanese culture to the world. Six world-renowned Japanese architects and two artists shall each design a one-of-a-kind pavilion showcasing the future architectural designs and art. The pavilions will be located in the area centered on the New National Stadium. Visitors will be able to walk around the area with a map to experience the pavilions on their own. Participating architects and two artists are: Terunobu Fujimori, Kazuyo Sejima, Sou Fujimoto, Junya Ishigami, Akihisa Hirata, Teppei Fujiwara, Makoto Aida, and Yayoi Kusama. Pavilion Tokyo 2021 will be open from July 1st until September 5th, 2021.

For this event at the Hamarikyu Garden Enryokan, a former state guesthouse, architect Kazuyo Sejima presents a pavilion resembling a flowing, meandering stream.
