Motohide Takami “The Three Realms of Fire”

Motohide Takami
The title of the exhibition, “The Three Realms of Fire,” is a Buddhist term that refers to the world we live in, full of inescapable confusion and suffering, and compares it to a house on fire. Humankind pretends not to see the flames that burn and continue to play in the firehouse. As this analogy suggests, in daily life, negative factors such as “death” are carefully isolated and turned away.

Motohide Takami’s works are nothing less than an attempt to dig them out and put them in the spotlight once again. His brush strokes are extremely calm, and viewers can feel the spirited sincerity with which he sincerely tries to grasp the state of reality.
